More fun at my place

April 12, 2009
There is nothing like a weekend with family and friends.  My mom plans on coming in after work on Friday.  I’m not sure what it is about she and I, but there is always that anticipation of arrival.   You know, like it is for a week of vacation.  Always seems like the days before are much slower than normal.  The days creep by no matter what you fill them with.  It is funny, she must feel the same way, because if at all possible, it happens hours earlier than we first thought.  Sometimes it is a day before.  This last trip, the first change was from after work to leaving about 2pm.  So, I called her about lunch time to find out she was skipping lunch and leaving at 1pm.  Sounded good to me.   Friday night was ours alone.  Saturday we planned a crop.   My mom’s sister, Toni came,  along with my sister, Sheila and a friend, Christine.

The flower pot card was a contribution of Christine’s.  I am in her club, so she brought it so I could do mine while she was at my place.   Nice of her!

We had my dining room filled with tables for whatever our whim was for the day.  There was scrapbooking, card making, and even a couple projects.  My daughter called during the day to ask grandma if we would stay up making cards if she came after work.  We all know what grandma said, of course.    About midnight, I decided I was grown and I was crashing!   The next morning, I found out the conqueror of the evening was my mom.  Katrina laid down about 1am.  It was nice having Toni here.  It had been a long, long time since we had spent anytime together.  I finally got a hold to mom’s top note die cut.  I had been about to die to get my hands on it to do one of the top note purses I had seen online.  They are everywhere out there in cyberspace, so if you like it and can’t figure out how to make it, just google stampin up top-note ideas.  I’m posting a couple items from the day.  The old lady card was done by my mom, known by me as one of “The Old Women”.   She did this card for my Aunt Dale,  who is older every year for a few short   months.

Not many mothers can boost that one of their best friends is a daughter also. But in this case it is true. We talk about things that only close friends would discuss with each other and know it will not be spread to anyone else. Paula is smart and creative. I wish you all could meet Lexie, that is one funny cat. Sometims we think he is a dog the way he plays. LOVE you Paula. PS counting days til Friday.
